Spectator terrace at the mainline station
The viewing terrace at the mainline station will remain closed from midday from 15.2. to 17.2.

Because of an in-house function, the viewing terrace at the mainline station will remain closed from midday from 15 February to 17 February. The spectator terrace at Gate B will remain open during this period (weather conditions permitting).

Only flying can beat it
Two new flight simulators at the airport. Visitors can take off under real conditions.

"Hobby pilots, pay attention!":  two companies have just installed flight simulators at Düsseldorf Airport.  Flights in an Airbus A320 and/or a Boeing 747 can be simulated in authentic cockpits.

Strike of flight controllers cancelled
The strike planned for Thursday, 4th of August has been cancelled.

If the German air traffic controllers, as announced strike on Thursday August 4 between 6:00 and 12:00 clock, there will be effected flight operations at Düsseldorf airport. In this case, check-in desks at Düsseldorf International will open first at 10:00 clock. First take-offs and landings could take place at 12:00 clock.

Waiting passengers in the terminal building will be regularly informed about the current status of affairs. In general it is recommended, that passengers who start their holidays this Thursday or Friday from Düsseldorf, contact the airline or their travel agent for the latest flight information, before going to Düsseldorf International.
The same applies to the offer of the late night check-in on Thursday evening.

Air China increases frequency
From 4 August four times a week from Düsseldorf to Beijing

Since the end of March Air China has been providing a non-stop connection between Düsseldorf and Beijing, the Chinese capital. In addition to flights on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays an Airbus A330-200 with 311 seats will now be taking off on Thursdays too heading for the Far East. As a member of the Star Alliance and a Codeshare Partner of Lufthansa, Air China passengers will benefit from lots of different connecting flights within Asia.

“Cockpit” Pilots’ Association
“Düsseldorf Airport is one of the safest in Germany”

Each year the Pilots’ Association “Cockpit” examines airport safety from the pilot’s point of view. Conclusion: Düsseldorf Airport is one of the safest in Germany, occupying 2nd place in the pilots’ ranking. The equipment and facilities required at an airport to guarantee that take-off, landing and movement on the ground are all undertaken safely are assessed from the pilot’s point of view. In Germany there are 30 commercial and regional airports where scheduled and charter flights regularly take off and land.

New airline company
Sun Express Deutschland is flying from Düsseldorf to Adana, Elazig and Ankara

With immediate effect, Sun Express is taking off with a German registration number. The airline Sun Express Deutschland (XG) received its operating licence from the Federal Office of Civil Aviation on 8 June and can therefore now also fly from the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia.

First flight to Rijeka
Airberlin takes off three times a week to the Croatian port on the Adriatic

Since 14 June airberlin has had a new destination in its Düsseldorf timetable. Each Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday a Boeing 737-800 takes off to Croatian Rijeka. The flight time to the Croatian Adriatic coast is an hour and a half.
